Our History

Founded in 2003, Riverbend has successfully acquired, developed, and managed nine asset portfolios representing $5 billion of total enterprise value. Riverbend has successfully monetized seven portfolios, generating significant returns for our investors across multiple investment strategies and through many price cycles.

Since our founding, Riverbend has closed over 300 transactions including acquisitions and divestitures, drilling partnerships, and private equity investments. We have been entrusted with significant equity capital from highly regarded and significant private capital firms.

  • Our Work

An early mover in the non-operated working interest space, Riverbend remains a leading non-operated working interest owner in the Lower 48 States. We have also pursued, and continue to pursue, mineral and royalty interests since our formation, operating in active and unconventional U.S. basins. We pride ourselves on strong operational capabilities which translate to returns for shareholders while being good stewards of our environment and communities.

In addition to our core business models of direct ownership of energy assets, Riverbend has a strong track record of directly or indirectly investing in common and/or preferred equity in non-Riverbend companies, energy-related business ideas, and managers. We are well-versed in multiple transaction formats, including multi-property and multi-state property sales, corporate stock transactions, and public or private company dealings.

With the ongoing transition to a lower-carbon energy system, Riverbend seeks to make direct equity investments in compelling private equity and finance opportunities in North American markets. We focus specifically on the providers enabling service, development, and finance across the solar, storage, electric vehicle, and energy management sector.
